(This article expired 14.08.2015.)

The Ambassador Tomáš Pernický opened an exhibition "A Tribute to the PET Bottle" on August 7th, 2014 within an Environmental Youth Meeting organized in Tbilisi at the Lisi Lake.

The exhibitionpresents artworks of Veronika Richterová, a sculptor having been systematically covering PET bottles into her work since 2004.
The exhibition is held within the Environmental Youth Meeting organized by the initiative "The Waste Management Technologies in Regions" supported by USAID. The aim of the Environmental Youth Meeting project is to inform the 9th to 12th grade students from Kakheti and Ajaria regions of Georgia about the importance of recycling waste. The students coming from 22 schools altogether were informed about the need to recycle waste and the use of so-called 4R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover) and also asked to create either a piece of art or item of every day use for your home or school made by recycling. The experts from the "The Waste Management Technologies in Regions” initiative further selected a winner in each category and invited them to a week-long Environmental Youth Meeting at Lisi Lake in Tbilisi. The exhibition "A Tribute to the PET Bottle" fitted the intention of the Environmental Youth Meeting organizers and was extremely positively acclaimed not only by young attendees of the meeting, but also the experts.
