Czech Republic´s aid to Georgian NGO for disabled persons

(This article expired 10.10.2015.)

On 2 October 2014, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi Sabina Cingrošová handed over certificates in various shoemaking skills to Georgian citizens who are disabled or live below the poverty line.

Vocational training of these people is a result of long term financial aid provided by the Czech Republic to the local NGO “Employment Union of the People with Disabilities”. Within the project aimed at increasing job opportunities to people with disabilities as well as those living below the poverty line and thus promoting their self-sufficiency, more than 40 shoemakers have been trained. Over 350 pairs of hand-made shoes have been distributed to disabled and extremely poor inhabitants of Tbilisi.
