Martina Bačová se účastnila i druhé jubilejní akce, a to tříhodinového Mahlerova marathónu, který proběhnul následující den. Marathón byl přenášen státním radiem a zúčastnila se ho řada zahraničních hostů.
A marathon of vocal and chamber masterpieces by Mahler to mark the 100th anniversary of his death. As has become a tradition, the marathon includes a brief explanation before each work and a full performance by top ranking Israeli artists. The repertoire includes Mahler´ssong cycles and selected chamber pieces from his peak years. As guest artist Czech violinist Martina Bacova will perform in premiere of Richard Strauss´sViolin Sonata.
Martina Bačová (b. 1982) ranks alongside the most distinctive members of the emerging generation of artists. She studied at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava, and at the Prague Conservatory. In 2008, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Ostrava, where her tutor was Professor Zdeněk Gola. From 2008 – 2010 she studied with Ivan Ženatý at the Carl Maria von Weber Hochschule für Musik in Dresden, as a recipient of the Sächsisches Landesstipendium grant.
As a soloist, she has appeared at prestigious festivals in the Czech Republic (Prague Spring, Saint Wenceslas Festivities, Mahler Festival in Jihlava) and internationally (Festival de Megève, Festival de Nancy, Festival de la Vézère, St. Gellert Festival).
She is frequently invited to work with the Ostrava Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, and with the Northern Bohemia Philharmonic Orchestra in Teplice. She has appeared with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and with various chamber ensembles, including Camerata Janáček, Czech Virtuosi, St. Gellert Academy, and others. She is a regular collaborator of Czech Radio and Czech Television.
