Nephesh Theatre in collaboration with the Czech Centre Tel Aviv and The Czech Embassy presents the theatre play "Hana's Suitcase", which is based upon a true story that has touched the hearts of millions of people throughout the world.

„Hanna’s Suitcase“ is based upon a true story of a Czech Jewish girl Hanna Brady from Nove Mesto in Moravia, Czechoslovakia, who perished in Auschwitz.

In 2000, Fumiko Ishioka, who founded the Holocaust Learning Centre in Tokyo, received a suitcase from Auschwitz with the name Hana Brady written on it. This sent her on a search throughout the world, crossing time and borders to uncover the unique and moving story of a Czech Jewish family during the Holocaust. The book „Hanna’s Suitcase“ by Canadian Karen Levine has been translated into 40 languages garnering many important prizes. The play by Emil Sher has been presented throughout the world and this production marks its premiere by Nephesh Theatre in Hebrew.
