Czech Republic - Gateway to Europe

The Embassy of the Czech Republic organized in cooperation with the Israeli Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry investment seminar in order to introduce the Czech Republic as the good place for investment and gateway to Europe. The event encountered with abundant participation from the Israeli business community. Besides the industrial companies, representatives of consulting firms, Israeli banks, commercial law firms, hi-tech sector and the government agencies were present.

The seminar took place in prestigious hotel Dan Tel Aviv and the opening word was given by the governor of the Czech National Bank, Mr. Miroslav Singer. He presented the current situation of the Czech economy and its perspective development in the future as well as its contemporary position within EU. Following presentation was given by the representative of the government agency CzechInvest, Mrs. Marcela Kolvekova. Participants had a chance to learn about the system of incentives and services that are provided by CzechInvest to the investors.  

Second block consisted of case studies of successful investments in the Czech Republic. Mr. Arie Levin, CEO of AVX described how his company in the past decade opened its branches in Uherske Hradiste and Lanskroun. Mr. Dan Propper, president of OSEM Group, shared his positive experience with construction of the food factory in Krupka u Teplic. Mrs. Kolvekova from CzechInvest pointed at some other success stories, such as Teva Pharmaceuticals, Honeywell, Bang & Olufsen etc. The last presentation of this block was dedicated to the Industrial Zone Holesov as a potential location for investment.  

The event was concluded by the performance of the governor Singer and the governor of the Bank of Israel, Prof. Stanley Fischer who both made remarks to the presentations as well as to the current problems of Euro zone and the world economy in general.
