The Embassy of the Czech Republic in deep sorrow informs that the former President Mr. Václav Havel, the first Czechoslovak President after the fall of communism and the first President of the Czech Republic, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

A Book of Condolences will be open for signing at the Embassy of the Czech Republic, 23 Zeitlin St, Tel Aviv, from Tuesday, December 20, 2011 to Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Private condolences can be also send to the Office of Vaclav Havel, Vorsilska 10, 110 00 Praha 1. The Requiem Mass to honour the memory of Mr. Václav Havel, deceased former President of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, will be celebrated in St. Saviour´s Church in Jerusalem, Old City, on Friday, December 23, 2011, at 1 p.m., the date of the official funeral and Requiem Mass in Prague. The Requiem Mass will be served by Apostolic Nuncio A. Franco.
