On Friday, September 28th, 2012 the Consulate General of the Czech Republic has commemorated its national Day of Czech Statehood by raising the national flag of the Czech Republic at the courtesy flag pole in front of the Ontario Legislative Building at Queen’s Park, Toronto.
Consul General of the Czech Republic Mr. Vladimír Ruml addressed the gathering of guests mostly members of our community, representatives of diplomatic missions in Toronto and constituents of Ontario’s Legislative Assembly and City Council. Our national colours of red, white and blue have been raised by distinguished member of Czech community Mr. Josef Čermák at the tones of the national anthems of the Czech Republic and Canada.
Consulate General of the Czech Republic received special greetings from Mr. Dave Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and Mr. Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario.
We sincerely hope that this ceremony has became established tradition in celebrating this important national day that honors our rich history, cultural traditions and values that our Czech Statehood is build upon.
