Training for Libyan civil initiatives organised by the Czech NGO „People in Need“

Between the 1st and 3rd September 2012, a practical training for Libyan NGOs organised by the Czech organisation „People in Need“ took place in Tripoli, with financial support by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in the framework of its Transition Promotion Program.
The training focused on public campaigns and cooperation with media, as well as on civil society development in general, with regard to the Czech transition experience. Among the participants, there were 12 representatives of 5 various Libyan NGOs focusing on issues such as support for civil rights, women’s rights and demilitarisation. The training was evaluated by the participants in very positive terms; the acquired knowledge can be used in their daily work.
