(This article expired 01.03.2020.)

On March 21, the ceremonial handover of a Small scale local project to Mongolian side took place in the premises of the Czech Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.

In a framework of its development cooperation assistance, the Czech Republic donated a car to the school in Gurvansaikhan sum, Dundgovi aimag. According to Mongolian tradition, giving horses never went without milk toast. As nowadays cars are "fast horses" too, director of the school, Mrs. J. Tsetsegdelger offered a solemn milk toast to the Ambassador, Mrs. I. Grollova.

School which is located 200 km South of Ulaanbaatar in rather an isolated sum of central Gobi will be able to significantly expand “radius” of its actions thanks to this new car. It will be able to transport some students to very distant homes for holidays or in emergency situations. The school will also use the car for attending other provincial schools’ and institutions’ events and courses, inter-school competitions or medical treatment in the provincial hospital.

Schoolof Gurvansaikhan sum is actively trying to improve the living and learning conditions of its students. It has also established friendship ties with two schools in the Czech Republic and cooperates with the Embassy for already several years.
