Trade fairs in the Czech Republic

The tradition of trade fairs in the Czech Republic and especially in the city of Brno dates back to the 18th century. In fact, exhibitions are a European way of life. The current layout of the exhibition center was shaped by the design of exhibition halls constructed for the Czechoslovak Exhibition of Contemporary Culture in 1928. Throughout its 80 years history, Brno Exhibition Center has become an exhibition hub on the map of Central Europe. The Brno Exhibition Center is the largest exhibition and convention center of its kind in Central Europe. At present the premises of the Brno Exhibition Center cover the total area of 65 ha offering 196 000 sqm of the gross exhibition area, of which 107 600 sqm indoor and 89 000 sqm open areas. By its architecture and situation the Brno Exhibition Center ranks among the most magnificent European exhibition sites. In 2000 it was awarded the title "Building of the Century" for its unique architecture. Since 1991 BVV has been the member of the World Trade Center Association (WTCA) and Hall E is the place of business of the World Trade Center Brno. BVV is also the member of the following international and national organizations and associations: UFI (Union des Foires Internationales), INTEREXPO (Association of Group Stand Organizers at International Fairs and Exhibitions), OSPI (International Association of Octanorm Representatives), SOVA (Association of Exhibition Event Organizers in the Czech and Slovak Republic
