June 15, 2011 was the important day for Czech-Mongolian relations. The special aircraft of the Czech Army bringing four Przewalski horses as a gift of the Czech Republic for Mongolia landed in Khovd province in western Mongolia. The project of a reintegration of this rare animal kind was organized by Prague ZOO together with their French and Mongolian partners.
The Czech Ambassador Mr. Vaclav Jilek with his colleagues, representatives of Zavkhan and Khovd provinces and Czech, Mongolian media were present at the Khovd airport. The Przewalski horses were accompanied on their long journey to their original homeland by the director of Prague ZOO Mr. Bobek, along with the vet. The Khovd Airport was just an interchange station for the horses, as they continued their trip to Khomin Tal, which took more than twenty hours.
We wish the horses to fall in love with Mongolia, as well as we, the workers of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar did!
