Reintegration of Przewalski horses in Mongolia - Czech project presentation in the premises of the Natural History Museum in Ulaanbaatar

The Czech project of Przewalski horses’ reintegration was presented June 10, 2011 in the Natural History Museum in Ulaanbaatar. The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Vaclav Jílek, representatives of the Zoological Garden Prague, Czech and Mongolian Media, also the officials of ministries of foreign affairs, finance and environment were present together with the scientists of the University and Academy of Sciences.
The Czech Ambassador reminded the merits of the Prague ZOO in saving this endangered species, which died out in their homeland in the last century extinction. Four Przewalski horses, which will be brought on 15 June, 2011 by special aircraft of the Czech Army to Khovd, are the gift from the Czech Republic for Mongolia. The cooperation between the two countries has a long tradition.
Spokesperson of the Prague ZOO Ms. Ptačinská Jirátová expressed her thanks to the Czech Ambassador and his staff for the assistance in this demanding project. Ambassador subsequently invited the participants to see the photo panels presenting the keeping of Przewalski hoses in Prague ZOO since the very beginning in the pre-war time till now. The event was accompanied by video projections.
