Czech Designer visited Mongolia

This working visit of Czech fashion designer Monika Přikrylová in Mongolia has contributed to the development of cooperation with Mongolian art studios and universities for the preparation of fashion shows, initiation of the Mongolia-Czech joint-portal for young designers, as well as, to organize a Czech Design exhibition in 2015 in Ulaanbaatar.

A young Czech designer Monika Přikrylová, who graduated from Tomas Bata University in Zlín majoring in Design and its promotion, visited to Mongolia in April 2014. Monika has ever inspired by and included Mongolian elements in her bachelor’s thesis, since then she has been working with Mongolian design and art studios for several years successfully. During her first visit in Mongolia, in collaboration with Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar, she has organized thematic seminar at arts and design specialized Citi Institute, and Czech clothing design and textile industry class at the MSUE (Mongolian State University of Education), as well as, at Mongolian University of Science and Technology. Thanks to Mongol Costumes company, she was introduced with the traditional Mongolian clothes and costumes in more details, which leads her to help organizing fashion show of the Mongol Costumes Co in Czech Republic; where they agreed to set up young designer’s show in September 2014.  Together with the Mongolian industrial designer D. Anar, a graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and Academy of Fine Arts, who has several years working experience as an associate of major art studios such asMMInterier and 1to1 design, Mongolia-Czech portal for young designers is being pursued to be launch. Also she is going to be involved in putting Czech design fashion show to be staged at Ulaanbaatar in 2015 under auspices of Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar. At the end of her visit, she gave interview to popular magazine Goodali, featured with photos of her “Mongol” collection that was ever presented for a competition.           

This visit of the M. Přikrylová was a first looking-forward action of the newly signed Agreement on Cultural Cooperation for 2014 – 2016 between the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Mongolia. As specified in second article of latter agreement, from Mongolian counterpart, by the beginning of the last April scenographer S. Ariunbold has participated in preparatory seminar for curators of Prague Quadrennial next year. Based on the knowledge and experience gained, in association with the MCST, team representing Mongolia at Quadrennial-2015 will be composed thereupon.
