The Czech President had talks both with Mr. N. Enkhbayar, the President of Mongolia and the other high level dignitaries of the country.
Mr. Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic accompanied by his wife paid the first state visit of Mongolia September 25 – 27, 2006. This visit whose preparations started in 2004 confirms the traditionally good bilateral relations. President Vaclav Klaus visited Mongolia during his Asian journey before the visit of Vietnam. The importance if this first state visit of Mongolia is underlined by the fact it happened in the year of the 800th anniversary of the first Mongolian State.
After the welcome ceremony the Czech President had the bilateral talks with Mr. N. Enkhbayar. During the talks the Czech President was awarded by the medal commemorating the 800th anniversary of the first Mongolian State. At the end of the bilateral talks of the delegations the authorized deputy ministers signed the Memorandum of understanding of the cultural and educational cooperation for 2006 – 2009.
During the state visit, the president of the Czech Republic also met with the Speaker of the Parliament Ts. Nyamdorj and the Prime Minister M. Enkhbold. The all talks were very friendly and open. The Czech President also inaugurated the Mongolian – Czech Business Forum calling for new business contacts and together with his Mongolian counterpart opened the exhibition of the Czech painter František Kupka, one of the founders of the world abstract painting.
