On 23 October 2014 the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic H. E. Mrs. E. Hrdá reminded the irreplaceable role of the International Criminal Court (“ICC”) in the fight against impunity.
In the open debate of the UN Security Council the Czech Republic supported referrals to the ICC of country specific situations in which crimes under the ICC jurisdiction have been committed. Cooperation between the ICC and Security Council remains crucial and there is a need of follow-up of situations referred to the ICC by the Security Council.
