Opening of the exhibition "Lithuanian Jews behind the Iron curtain

(This article expired 10.11.2014 / 13:45.)

On March 13, 2014 an exhibition "Lithuanian Jews behind the Iron curtain" was opened in the Tolerance Centre of the Wilna Gaon Jewish Museum in Vilnius. The exhibition aims at filling the gaps in the modern history, break the old anti-semite stereotypes and reveal real and so far mostly unknown aspects of cultural and ethnic expression of Lithuanian Jews during the Soviet regime.

The exhibition that is based on available resources and on expositions from the Lithuanian State Central Archive, Lithuanian Special Archive and from private collections undoubtedly provides not only a true reflection of the life of Lithuanian Jews, but also a more comprehensive picture of Lithuanian history in the 20th century.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vilnius is a proud sponsor of the exhibition.
