The 28th EUFASA Conference was held in Warsaw, May 13-15, 2012. Delegates of the 30 countries, which have their embassies in the EU territory, attended the conference. On the eve of the conference Ambassador of the Czech Republic Jan Sechter and his wife organized a welcome reception for the delegates.
The European Union Foreign Affairs Spouses, Partners and Families Association (EUFASA), was established in 1985 and its main purpose is to provide assistance to spouses, partners and families of the officers employed by EU Foreign Ministries. Topics of interest include security and safety, health insurance, children’s education, divorces and pension provisions. Every year EUFASA’s delegates meet at the annual Conference, at the end of which a letter is usually drafted summarizing the event and making recommendations to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the respective states. Currently, spouses' and partners' associations of 25 European countries are members of the EUFASA.
The Association of Family Members (SRP) of the Employees of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was established as an informal club in September 2004 and registered with the Ministry of Interior in February 2006, is also a EUFASA member. In cooperation with its partner organizations SRP is systematically working on improving the situation of the family members who accompany the diplomats sent abroad.
