Czech Christmas Market

On November 8, 3-6 pm, and November 9, 1-6 pm, the Embassy of the Czech Republic will open a special Czech Christmas Market. The event will feature beautiful hand blown Czech ornaments from the European Trading Company, special performances of Czech and Slovak Christmas carols performed by children from Sokol Washington, DC, a music workshop called Rhythm and Body, Czech nativity scenes on display, the opportunity to decorate traditional gingerbread cookies, Christmas cookies from Bistro Bohem and delicious mulled wine (svařák).

1:00 pm: Czech Christmas Market opens to the public

1:30 pm: Czech and Slovak Christmas carols performed by children's choir - Sokol Washington, DC

3:00 pm: Rhythm and Body music workshop: Three music experts (Lenka Pištěcká - Conductor, Jiřina Dvořáková-Marešová - Piano, and Ondřej Tichý – Drums) show children in the audience how to use their bodies as musical instruments. Czech, English and Latin songs.

6:00 pm: Event concludes
