Filmmaker Vorlíček remade the traditional story of Cinderella into a delightful Christmas fairy tale in early 1970s. Since that time, it has became one of the most popular Czech Christmas movies of all time. Beautiful Libuška Šafránková in the lead role plays a poor orphan who become a princess by a twist of fate. Her role reveals a very strong and self-confident woman who gives the prince a hard time with a sense of humor and does not simply fall into his arms. The Czech Cinderella is a skilled sharpshooter prone to wearing hunting outfits as well as an elegant and wise lady. Of course, she has three magic nuts to help her fulfil a destiny and bring the love story to a happy end. (1973, 75 min., Czech with English subtitles)
