DIR: Helena Třeštíková - Q&A with the director!
2013, 80 min., Czech with English subtitles

This documentary follows the ups and downs of Romany musician, activist and reporter Vojta Lavička over the course of 16 years.
Vojta is a pioneer in Romany TV and radio broadcasting, advocating for the rights of gypsies. He primarily made his name
as a great violin player with the group Gipsy.cz. At the same time, he has been fighting his whole life against the darker aspects of
his character, resolving relationships with women and looking for his place in the sun in and out of the Romany community. How
does he combine pride in his Romany origins with disagreement about the manner in which some Roma live? Why leave for abroad
like many others when he feels at home in the Czech Republic? Festivals and Awards (selection): Screened at prestigious film
festivals including the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (2013).
