Celebrating Masaryk

On March 10, at 3 pm, the Embassy of the Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, will host a celebration of the 163rd anniversary of the birth of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, organized by the Washington Chapter of the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences and Slavic-American Sokol.

PROGRAM:
FILM: The Greatest Czech - Tomáš G. Masaryk
36 min., director Zdeněk Mahler, Czech with English subtitles
Introduction by Dr. Robert Řehák, Embassy of the Czech Republic
and Dr. Katarína Kováčová, Embassy of the Slovak Republic

MUSIC: Performance of Smetana’s and Dvořák’s works
Performed by Solomia Gorokhivska (violin/piano) and Andrei Pidkivka (flute/ethnic flutes).

READINGS: Great Small Details about TGM
Readings by the children from the Slavic-American Sokol School and Preschool
followed by some of Masaryk’s favorite folklore songs.

Refreshments will be served after the program.
