Research fellowships at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic

Research fellowships at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic are intended for Czechs living abroad. The felolowships focus on maintaining and spreading knowledge of the Czech language and cultural consciousness. Czechs living abroad may study subjects such as Czech language and literature; Czech language and literature pedagogy, history, ethnology, art history, or theology. Good knowledge of the Czech language is necessary for this type of study. These one- or two-semester courses are held in Czech, usually at the Faculty of Philosophy of a university in the Czech Republic.
Students who are accepted receive a scholarship, a financial contribution towards travel to and from the Czech Republic, and are entitled to board and lodging for the same price as Czech students. Upon completing their studies, students receive a graduation certificate or confirmation.

Application forms may be submitted only via Czech Embassy of the Czech Republic, and must be submitted by 15 March for the winter and summer semester (or for only winter semester) and by 15 August for summer semester.

To apply you should:
- Fill out an electronic application;
- Print out the application and send it to the relevant embassy. The original application must be received by the relevant embassy or consulate at least two working days after the application deadline.
