Christmas Party at the Czech Embassy

(This article expired 18.12.2013.)

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, DC, hosted a Christmas party for more than 150 guests in the premises of the Embassy on December 13.

The event presented an opportunity to introduce to the American and other foreign guests the traditional Czech Christmas atmosphere created by the decorations, Czech food including typical Christmas cookies and by the unique performance of the choir formed by the Embassy personnel. The choir sang traditional Czech and American Christmas songs, accompanied by Rick Normoyle at the piano.

During the evening, guests had the opportunity to participate in a raffle organized under the patronage of the famous Czech ice hockey player Patrik Elias, the Good Will Ambassador to the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF. All the generous contributions from the raffle will be donated to UNICEF. Mrs. Kostoval, the wife of Chargé d´Affaires Daniel Kostoval, drew the lucky winners of many prizes, including a free trip to Prague with a three nights´ accommodation, a gold platted porcelain tea service and a complimentary dinner for two in the Zlata Praha restaurant in New York City.

We would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous support of the event:
