The Greatest Czechs (Největší z Čechů)
2010, 95 min., in Czech with English subtitles | DIR: Robert Sedláček

Synopsis: A film crew hits the road to make their next movie. These starving artists already have a number of award-winning films under their belt, but they don't have audiences. Their next collaborative effort -- the Director's lifetime dream -- is proving difficult to achieve because the Director failed to win a grant, which means the film won't be made. The frustrated Director and his colleagues await their chance among recordholders of curious disciplines such as crawling with a squash racquet or collecting four-leaf clovers. How will the collision of these two worlds end? What will the Director's next film be about?

Festivals and Awards (selection): Won the Czech Film Critic's Award for Best Actress (2010). Nominated for Czech Lions for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (2011).
