This documentary tells the story about dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, a noted advocate for human rights and democratic freedoms in Cuba and founder of the Lawton Foundation, an organization that peacefully promotes the defense of human rights through nonviolent civil disobedience. Dr. Biscet is currently serving a 25 year prison sentence for allegedly committing crimes against the state and the integrity of the Cuban territory.

 

Czech CDA a. i. Daniel Kostoval and Hungarian DCM Andras Bacsi held introductory remarks and director Jordan Allott lead a Q&A session after the screening. Dr. Angel Garrido, the vicepresident of the Lawton Foundation, mentioned in his speech that he was in contact  with Biscet and his release was allegedly a matter of weeks. Former Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Andrew Strenio from Freedom Now, Diana Molineaux from Radio and TV Martí, State Department officials and representatives of the think-tank community were among the guests.
