On November 15, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in collaboration with the Vaclav Havel Library Foundation organized a program honoring the life and legacy of late President Vaclav Havel. The evening included two theatrical performances and a panel discussion followed by a Q&A; session.

The speakers of the evening included Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State, Carl Gershman, President of the National Endowment for Democracy, and Martin Butora, Founder and Honorary President of the Institute for Public Affairs. They spoke about Vaclav Havel in the roles of a political leader, a human rights advocate and a citizen. The discussion was moderated by Martin Palous, Director of the Vaclav Havel Library, Foreign Programs.

American University theater students under the direction of Gail Humphries Mardirosian performed Kaleidoscope - A Dramatic View of Vaclav Havel. The work represents the essence of Vaclav Havel as expressed through his "Letter 133" from Letters to Olga.

Unititled Theater Company #61 under the direction of Edward Einhorn presented Dozens of Cousins, Havel´s final Vanek play, written in 2010. It was the English language premiere of the performance.
