Of the 4,570 participants from across the globe, only 123 (or 2.7%) wines were from Czech Republic; yet, the Czech Republic took home 5% of the double gold medals as well as the Best White Wine in the Show!  In total, the wines from the Czech Republic amassed an incredible 92 medals.  “Such a high share in the awards naturally bears witness to the quality of Moravian and Czech wineries as a whole," according to Pavel Krška, director of the National Wine Centre.
