Twenty seven years passed this year from this tragic event in 1994, when ethnic Hutu extremists deliberately killed hundred thousands of people from Tutsi minority. The 27th Commemoration Day was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda, under the auspices of H.E. the Ambassador of Republic of Rwanda Mr. Emmanuel Hategeka.  Personal participation of Ambassador Jiří Slavík on this event expressed respect to the victims and confirmed to all present government and diplomatic representatives that the Czech Republic considers and always considered mass killing of members of Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994 as an act of genocide.
