Celebration of the National Day of the Czech Republic in Ras Al Khaimah

On the occasion of the Independence Day of Czechoslovakia and the National Day of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Association of Czechs and Slovaks in the UAE, organized a social evening on October 29, 2021 at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort Hotel. The evening was attended by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, member of the Federal Supreme Council of the UAE and Emir of Ras Al Khaimah, H. E. Mr. Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, other representatives of the Emirate, members of the business community.  The main program of the evening was a concert by the Czech popular "Monkey Business" music group

The main program of the evening was a concert by the Czech popular "Monkey Business" music group. It was the only concert of this group in the United Arab Emirates. At the beginning of the evening, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Arab Emirates H. E. Mr. Jiří Slavík mentioned in his key note speech the establishment of a joint independent Czechoslovakia in 1918 and coexistence of Czechs and Slovaks at present time when both countries are members of the European Union. He emphasized excellent level of relations between the Czech Republic and the UAE and expressed support for mutual economic and trade cooperation. The Czech Republic is a popular tourist destination for partners in the UAE, spas and medical facilities, including physiotherapy and rehabilitation, have excellent reputation.

Major Czech companies (Škoda Auto, Smartwings, Plzeňský prazdroj) sponsored the event.

The social evening in Ras Al Khaimah was also an opportunity to get acquainted with the realities of the Czech Republic and, last but not least, with authentic Czech cuisine from the nearby "Czech Pub & Tourist Restaurant", located opposite the Hilton Hotel, which provided catering.
