Visit by diplomats of the Czech Embassy to Al Ain

On 2 November 2021, Ambassador H. E. Mr. Jiří Slavík, Head of the Consular Section Mrs. Lucie Svobodová and Agricultural Diplomat Mr. Lukáš Zamrzla visited the city of Al Ain where they were received at the administrative center (Al Ain Municipality) by its Director General H. E. Ing. Ali Khalifa Ahmed Alqemzi and other officials.
 

During the meeting, possibilities of cooperation between the Czech side and partners in Al Ain were discussed. The perspective areas of cooperation are healthcare (including spas), agriculture, urban transport, and maintenance of heritage structures. Al Ain presents itself as the second most important city in the emirate of Abu Dhabi which has a strategic inland location on the border with Oman. The city has an important federal university (United Arab Emirates University, UAEU). It was agreed that the next meeting of the Embassy representatives will be with the university officials in order to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with Czech universities.

During the program, delegation of the Embassy visited important local monuments that are part of the tangible heritage by UNESCO. Al Ain Palace Museum and Qasr Al Muwaiji commemorate life and activities of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founder of the UAE, and his family in the city. The end of the program was dedicated to a visit to the Heritage Village where traditional crafts are presented, accompanied by performances by local folklore ensembles on the main stage.
