Official visit of the Czech President in the United Arab Emirates

The President of the Czech Republic, H.E. Miloš Zeman, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 11-13, 2015. It was the first historical visit of a Czech president to the U.A.E. since the establishment of mutual diplomatic relations in 1988.
 

The President was received by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces. They discussed friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, and ways of enhancing these relations in the service of their mutual interests.

The President along with the Ambassador to the U.A.E. H. E. Alexandr Sporýš opened the new premises of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Marina Village area, Abu Dhabi, and held a keynote speech at the Emirati-Czech business forum at the Emirates Palace Hotel, co-organised by the Confederation of the Czech Industry, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the U.A.E. and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the U.A.E.

The official delegation also visited Hedayah, the international Centre of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism, and the traditional Qasr al Hosn Festival. Before his departure to the Czech Republic, H. E. Miloš Zeman paid tribute to the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
