Asaba will have a stable electricity network thanks to Czechs

From November 24 to 26, 2019, Ambassador Marek Skolil, accompanied by diplomat Marie Nwanyanwu, visited the city of Asaba in Delta State, Nigeria. The aim of the business trip was to support the project of the planned construction of steam-gas power plant in the capital of Delta State, implemented by the Czech company from Třebíč, MICo EWC, s.r.o.

Ambassador accompanied MICo EWC representatives and their Nigerian partners from Valerio Energy Ltd. at meetings with the Governor of Delta State, H.E. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and then with the traditional ruler, King “Asagba of Asaba”, H.R.M. Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien. The outcome of negotiations was the signing of a contract to prepare a study of the possibilities of construction of this power plant, including the related infrastructure. MICo EWC also used the visit to collect field data and to consult details with experts.

During the meetings, the possibilities of deepening cooperation between the Delta State and the Czech Republic were discussed. In addition to the energy sector, local government representatives were also interested in safety and automotive supply.
