Book donation for the Alliance Française in Port Harcourt

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja handed over, through a compatriot and a professor at Nigeria University in Port Harcout, Mrs. Jana Osuku, the books of Czech authors in French translation to Marie-Hélène Predhom, the director of the Alliance Française de Port Harcourt.
Among the 34 publications donated to the library of this institution were the classical writers of the Czech literary scene such as Karel Čapek, Milan Kundera, Franz Kafka, Jaroslav Hašek, Arnošt Lustig, Patrik Ouředník or Josef Škvorecký. Czech poets are represented in the Anthology of Czech Contemporary Poetry (1948-2000). Nigerian readers can also find two copies of the Fairytales for Gorillas published by the Prague Zoo and several scientific publications in the Alliance Française de Port Harcourt‘s library.
