Cooperation with the Nigerian National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure - opportunities for Czech companies and investors

The Nigerian National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TACR), in which both parties have committed themselves to developing bilateral cooperation in a whole range of science and research and especially in technology transfer. Subsequent practical application in the business sphere will then create space for the involvement of interested Czech companies and investors and the establishment of business relations with Nigerian partners.

On May 18, 2022, a call for projects in the field of technology transfer and development within the so-called Delta-2 Program was launched on both the Czech and Nigerian sides. This is historically the first such project with an African country implemented by TACR. That day, an official ceremony took place in NASENI's headquarters in Abuja, during which the details of the project and opportunities to participate were presented to the Nigerian public. The Nigerian side was represented by Mr. Dahiru - Chairman of the Presidential Implementation Committee for Nigerian-Czech Cooperation in the field of technology transfer and prof. Haruna, Vice President of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), President of Nigeria Buhari, the Czech side was represented by the economic diplomat, Mrs. Beata Matusiková. Program details, including application form can be found on https://pictt.gov.ng/ta-cr-delta-2-programme/.

NASENI has financial resources available for its projects, which can motivate and support Nigerian private entities and research institutions in the practical implementation of the adoption of production technologies, technology development, know-how in their business and research activities. At the same time, if a foreign partner is found, it can contribute to educational and training stays at these companies.

The Nigerian side currently wants to focus cooperation on technology transfer, technology development and practical training in the following areas:

agricultural technology - tillage and soil improvement, landscaping and harvesting

processing technology - processing of agricultural crops, meat and food

food preservation and storage

Mining and quarrying:

mining and machine tools technology

Machining technologies, machines and tools for small businesses (general manufacturing).

The Nigerian side has extensive experience with quality modern Czech products and Czech companies and investors will be welcome in Nigeria with open arms.
