Czech songs at the celebration of the International Mother Language Day

The International Mother Language Day has been indicated by UNESCO since 2000 on February 21. This date was chosen to commemorate the Bangladeshi movement for the national language Bangla, which was bloody suppressed that very day in 1952. The High Commission of Bangladeshi organised a cultural evening to celebrate linguistic diversity of the world on February 28, 2019. As part of the program, artists and diplomats presented, in the form of poems, songs and dance performances, the languages of Nigeria, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and the Czech Republic. Singer Veronika Martinská (Veru) sang songs Plzeňská věž (Pilsen tower) and Život je jen náhoda (Life is but chance).
