Film Festival to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia

From October 22 till October 25, 2018, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with Slovak colleagues organized the Czech and Slovak Film Festival in the garden of the French Institute in Abuja. The festival attracted more than 400 visitors. The event was announced by Nigerian television AIT and Abuja Digest newspaper. The final cocktail was attended by 200 guests from diplomatic community, Nigerian senators, generals and artists.

The opening and closing evening were revived by the musical performance of a Nigerian saxophonist, who also played, besides the classic jazz compositions, Czech jazz song  „Life Is Just a Coincidence“ and a Slovak national song. In four screening days, the audience could watch a comedy from the Czech-Slovak-Polish co-production "All or Nothing", as well as the cult animated film "The Highlander Jurko" and no less cult "Cosy Dens". Screening on Wednesday was launched by the Czech-Slovak fairy tale "Thomas The Falconer", followed by "The Cremator". The final cocktail was followed by the last comedy movie from the exotic Czech winter "I enjoy the world with you".
