Opening ceremony of a residential complex in Lagos

On January 15, 2022, exactly 56 years have passed since the first Nigerian Finance Minister, Festus Samuel Okotie-Eboh, was killed in Nigeria's first coup. Mr Okotie-Eboh is recognized as a great figure of Nigerian politics and economics, which has also contributed to the country's economic development.

On this occasion, one of the most luxurious residential complexes in Lagos was ceremoniously opened, located on the site of the former residence of Mr. Okotie-Eboh. The opening was also attended by the daughter of the former Minister, Dr. Dere Awosika.

Mr. Okotie-Eboh was known for his great affection for Czechoslovakia and we are very happy that his daughter Mrs. Dr. Awosika, a candidate for the Honorary Consul in Lagos, continues to maintain and develop this relationship with the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic was represented at the opening ceremony by the head of the CzechTrade office in Lagos, Mr. Štěpán Beneš.
