Presidential Election 2018

The Special Voting Unit number 102 opened it’s doors to voters on January 12th 2018 at 14:00. The people of the Czech Republic are voting for new President for another 5 year term. This is the second direct presidential election in the history of the Czech Republic. In the past it was the National Parliament who was voting in the President.
There are nine presidential candidates, mostly without political affiliations, including current President of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Miloš Zeman. The workers of the Embassy of the Czech Republic casted their votes already. Other potential voters have a chance to vote for their chosen candidate today till 22:00 or tomorrow January 13th, from 8:00 till 14:00.
The new Head of State will be known either tomorrow January 13th after the end of first round or in two weeks when the possible second round may be conducted.
