Visit from Cameroon at the Czech agricultural and agro food companies

Cameroonian delegation of entrepreneurs in agriculture and agro food sector visited the Czech Republic in the project to promote economic diplomacy (ie. PROPED) between 6 to 10 March 2017. The visit took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and with the support of the Central European-Central African Chamber of Commerce.

During the initial business seminar attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Central-Central African Chamber of Commerce, EGAP, ČEB and a number of Czech companies the parties exchanged ideas about the goals of this visit. The following Czech companies were presented: Moreau Agri, AGRICO, Fullwood, VUCHZ Brno, CHD Impuls, Oseva, Fishery Hodonin, Anker Technology. Funding options were presented by representatives of the CEB and EGAP.

In the following days the Cameroonian delegation visited the companies: Mauting Ltd., Zetor Tractors SpA, Army SPRING Ltd., Farmet Inc., Agrico Ltd., International B27, where it got familiar with their products and opportunities for cooperation.

During an audience with Mr. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jiří Šír Cameroonian delegation presented the agricultural sector in Cameroon and the objectives of its visit to the Czech Republic. Cameroon interest is primarily to stop the outflow of young people from villages and agricultural sector, modernize technology and equipment used in agriculture and food production, ensure food security and self-sufficiency of the country and involve local producers in international trade.

At the end of the program the delegation visited the Prague Zoo, where the director Miroslav Bobek presented to the guests a brief history of the Zoo and some nature conservation projects, especially educational project The Stray bus of the Prague Zoo implemented in Cameroon for several years.

The successful course of the event was reported in the Cameroonian press.
