Exercise of Right to Access to Schengen Information System

The Czech Republic, as the Schengen Area participating state, uses the Schengen Information System (SIS).

The SIS is a database shared by all Schengen Area States. The SIS contains information about sought after, missing or pursued persons and about stolen or missing vehicles and objects (mainly identification documents, vehicle registration documents or license plates).

Persons who have been entered into the SIS will be denied entry in the Czech Republic / Schengen Area.

Persons who have been denied entry in the Czech Republic / Schengen Area based on an entry in the SIS can request an explanation from the institution which has made the entry. In the Czech Republic it is the Police of the Czech Republic. The contact address is the Police Presidium (Policejní presidium). The contact address isP.O.BOX 62/K-SOU, Strojnická 27, 170 89 Praha 7.
