Government Scholarships for Academic Year 2014/2015

The Government of the Czech Republic has offered a grant of scholarships for the academic year 2014/2015 to Ethiopia and South Sudan. The offer has been officially notified to the respective ministries of foreign affaires.

The Government of the Czech Republic offers to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of South Sudan a grant of scholarships for the academic year 2014/2015. The offer has been officially communicated to the Ministries of Education/Foreign Affairs of the respective countries.

Granted Scholarships for academic year 2013/2014

Country B.A., MA/MSc or PhD in the Czech Language follow-up M.A./MSc or PhD in the English Language

The scholarship programs are as follows:

1. Study Programs in the Czech language:

BA (Bachelor's degree programs): 3-4 years

MA/MSc (Master's degree programs): 4-6 years

PhD (Doctoral degree programs): 3-4 years;

Field of Study:

Ethiopia - geology, forestry, medicine, economics, agriculture, power engineering, shoemaking

South Sudan – power engineering, agriculture/food-processing, medicine, economics (trade)

 

2. Study Programs in the English language:

Follow-up MA/MSc(follow-up Master's degree programs): 1-3 years

PhD (Doctoral degree programs): 3-4 years;

Field of Study: Ethiopia/South Sudan - agriculture, economics (trade), information technologies

All applicants are required to fill online an electronic Application Form which is accessible until September 30, 2013. Only above mentioned fields of study will be accepted.

Applicants successful in the first round of testing will be invited by the Embassy for an oral interview. They will be also asked to present their personal documentation (see Guidelines) including originals of the following personal and educational documents duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respected countries:

1. Birth certificate

2. University Diploma / Temporary Certificate of Graduation or Secondary Education Certificate

3. Student Academic Record

Finally, the Embassy will forward complete nomination files to the Czech Republic. Scholarships will be awarded based on a decision of a joint commission of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education, Youth and Sports.

Successful nominees will be subsequently notified by the Embassy in June 2014.
