Amhara and SNNPR regions in Czech Television documentaries:

We are happy to announce that both Amhara Region and SNNPR (Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region) were featured in two Czech documentaries from the series "Na Cestě." ("On The Road")
The documentaries were shot by a renowed Czech documentary director Mr. Jaroslav Jindra. They mention richness of natural and cultural heritage sites that are located in both regions.
In Amhara Region the documentary explores Lake Tana monasteries and the fascinating rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. It mentiones importance of the region for both Christianity and Islam. The documentary concludes that Christian rites in Amhara region and in the whole of Ethiopia have been preserved in an almost unchanged form.
The Southern Region documentary explores the Great Rift Valley lakes Abaya and Chamo and the volcanic Lake Ara Shetan. The documentary also visits the Mursi tribe from the Mago National Park and the Tiya megaliths, which are one of the Ethiopian UNESCO heritage sites.
