The seventh annual bilateral political consultations between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia took place in Addis Ababa on March 21, 2019. The Czech delegation was led by the Deputy Minister Martin Tlapa and the consultations confirmed the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries.

The working visit had strong economic content. The Deputy Minister Tlapa met with the representatives of the Czech companies LINET and Mikroelektronika. In capacity of guest of honour he took part in the inauguration of the 22nd edition of the international trade fair MEDEXPO Africa, where he introduced the Czech company LINET which currently won important state contracts, to the Ethiopian Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Mesganu Arega. Mutually beneficial trade and development cooperation in the medical sector was the main topic discussed during the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health of Ethiopia Ms. Liya Tadesse.

Czech development cooperation was the main topic of the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Cooperation Mr. Admasu Nebebe. The Deputy Minister Tlapa visited Czech medical experts operating under the development program MEDEVAC in Menelik II Hospital. His lecture on the Czech Economic Diplomacy held in Ethiopian Civil Service University was a great success.
