The Czech Embassy in Addis Ababa commemorates the 10th anniversary of the death of a famous Czech illustrator, film director and cartoonist Vladimír Jiránek. Besides his many  other works V. Jiránek created a series  of drawings about another famous Czech-born personality Sigmund Freud who was born in a Moravian town of Příbor in 1856 to become of the most respected psychologists of the 20th century.

The texts for Jiránek´s drawings were translated into Amharic by Techane Mekonnen and Pavel Mikeš. The drawings were created in 2006 in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
