H.E. Mr. Atef Tarawneh, Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives discussed with the Ambassador the current issues on deepening the parliamentary diplomacy

On 27 March 2019, Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, H.E. Mr. Atef Tarawneh, received H.E. the Ambassador Mr. Josef Koutsky. The aim of the meeting was a joint evaluation of the mutual relations that are seamless and intensively developing.

The importance of parliamentary diplomacy for the further development of bilateral relations, as well as the existing untapped potential within trade and economic spheres were highlighted during the negotiations. The Ambassador informed that within the upcoming visit of H.E. Mr. Adam Vojtech, Minister of health of the Czech Republic a meeting will be conducted with members of the Health and Environment Committee of Lower House of Representatives. In addition to that, H.E. the Ambassador notified on the forthcoming visit of the members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Czech Republic to Jordan, led by its Chairman, H.E. Mr. Lubomír Zaoralek. Thus both programs of the visits were arranged accordingly.

Speaker of the Lower House, H.E.Tarawneh highly appreciated the excellent level of mutual relations and the Czech assistance that has been provided to Jordan for a long time in the context of the conflict in neighbouring Syria. Also, he expressed his thanks to the Czech Republic as a member of the European Union for its support while negotiating the "Rules of Origin", which will facilitate the import of Jordanian goods into EU countries, especially at a time when Jordanian economy is not reaching its required growth parameters.
