Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Jordan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Martin Tlapa visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 19-22 May, 2017. During his visit, Deputy Minister Tlapa attended a conference organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) under the theme “Enabling a Generational Transformation”. Political consultations were conducted with H.E. Ms. Areej Hawamdeh, Secretary General of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, and with H.E. Manar Dabbas, Political Affairs Director at the Royal Hashemite Court. As a part of the economic diplomacy project, Deputy Minister Tlapa handed over a gift from the Czech Republic to the military hospital at the King Hussein Medical Center, which consisted of various medical devices manufactured in the Czech Republic by LINET, EMBITRON and MEDIN companies.
 

At the sidelines of the WEF conference, Deputy Minister Martin Tlapa met e.g. with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, H.E. Miroslav Lajčák to discuss a coordination between the Presidency of UN General Assembly of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Presidency of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The meeting with H.E. Ms. Areej Hawamdeh focused on further development of mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Jordan as well as arrangements for the official visit of the Jordanian Prime Minister, H.E. Hani Mulki, to the Czech Republic, planned for June 2017. An economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Jordan and an implementation of humanitarian assistance of the Czech Republic provided to Syrian refugees in Jordan were also discussed.


The meeting with the Director of Political Section at the Royal Hashemite Court, H.E. Manar Dabbas concentrated on the cooperation between both countries in the field of security and current situation in the Middle East.

On May 22nd, 2017, during a ceremony Deputy Minister Tlapa handed over a gift from the Czech Republic to the military hospital in the King Hussein Medical Center. This donation consisted of various medical devices manufactured in the Czech Republic by LINET, EMBITRON a MEDIN companies. The donation was handed over under the PROPED economic diplomacy project of the Czech Government. The ceremony was attended by the leading representatives of the Royal Medical Services, the management of the Czech companies mentioned above, doctors and specialists from the King Hussein Medical Center and reporters from the Jordanian media. This contribution will not only help to provide a high quality of medical care but also enhance the good reputation of the Czech healthcare manufactures in Jordan. The Jordanian side has officially confirmed the inclusion of the Czech manufactures amongst authorized suppliers of medical equipment for Jordanian governmental sector.
