The Czech Republic continues to assist Jordan with another project in the Za'atari refugee camp

His Excellency the Ambassador Mr. Josef Koutsky along with the representatives of "The Lutheran World Federation" and the UNHCR inaugurated a ribbon cutting ceremony of a centre for preschool children "Smurf Center" on 5 May 2019 in the Za'atari refugee camp.

The nursery will serve the children of Syrian refugee parents; who either work daily in the camp or outside it. In addition to a small cinema, art room, and teaching area, it includes a fun playground, which is going to be extended by a small football pitch.

The Czech Republic has been active in supporting and cooperating with "The Lutheran World Federation" and the UNHCR via developing the infrastructure of the "Peace Oasis" in the Za'atari refugee camp since 2016. A learning and creative centre was built, electricity produced by power generators, library and psychological centre were equipped. For 2019 "Child DayCare Center" project is being implemented.
