The Ambassador of the EU Delegation in Jordan, Andrea Fontana and the Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy of the European Commission, Johannes Hahn had their speeches during the reception. Both appreciated the role of Jordan’s cooperation with EU and highlighted the importance of Jordan to this region’s stability. At the same time, they mentioned a number of development and humanitarian projects carried out by the EU Delegation and its Member States that aim to help Jordan in the long term to alleviate the refugee burden and the economic challenges that face Jordan. The gala event was attended by a number of Jordanian personalities, including members of the Jordanian government, parliament, senate, chambers of commerce as well as diplomatic corps.
