Visit of H.E. Mr. Josef Koutsky, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Zataari refugee camp

On 27 October 2018, the Czech Ambassador was received by the Camp Commander along with the leader of UNHCR Sub-Office Mrs. Irene Omondi and WFP representatives, who informed his Excellency about the operational needs of the camp and the extent of its infrastructure in a welcoming discussion.
The camp administration highly appreciated the assistance provided by the Czech Republic to the camp through various projects facilitated to the Syrian refugees. Both parties have assured each other of their sincere interest to continue this cooperation effectively. UNHCR has presented to the Ambassador the practical functioning of the basic tools of care provided for the refugees such as the health clinic, the grocery store, the waterworks, the power station, and the camp business zone.
H.E. Mr. Koutsky has also visited the base "Peace Oasis" of the World Lutheran Federation, where a small local project was completed from a donation given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic to build a community center that will soon provide a psycho-social support to Syrian refugees.
