Czech made honey cake Marlenka makes life sweeter also in Jordan

Since summer 2022, it became possible for people in Jordan to buy and taste the most famous and delicious honey products of the Czech company Marlenka. Newly with Jordan included, Marlenka is already distributed in eight Arabian countries with increasing popularity and great reputation.

Marlenka started in Jordan by the enthusiasm of Imad Abdel-Hafez who is a Jordanian and a Hungarian citizen.  Mr. Abdel-Hafez was a big fan of Marlenka since the first time he tasted their products. Seeing the success that Marlenka has achieved in the Hungarian and other not only European markets he decided to start his small business by importing Marlenka from the Czech Republic and distribute it in the Jordanian market as ME and EU for sweets company.

Mr. Abdel-Hafez stated, “After having the idea of importing Marlenka products to the Jordanian market I visited the Marlenka manufactory and was amazed by what I saw there, it is the biggest honey cake and honey product manufactory in the world, working with the highest technologies and the finest ingredients to insure the quality of their products. After having a meeting with the founder Mr. Gevorg Avetisyan who built the Marlenka empire, we agreed on the business plan of importing Marlenka products to the Jordanian market“.

The company Marlenka International s.r.o., whose story began to unfold in 1995, when Gevorg Avetisjan and his family traveled to the Czech Republic from Armenia. The educated and successful designer first tried to find a job in his profession. But once he asked his sister to bake a honey cake based on their family recipe and then took the cake to a friend. In the evening, a friend called him saying: "Bake me another one, he's already eaten. And rather bake more of them.” In just two months, Avetisjan's sister wasn´t able to  meet the demand.

At first, the cakes were baked at home on a classic stove with an oven, later a factory was rented, then a larger one, but even that soon became insufficient. And so in 2009 a completely new large-capacity production hall with a unique, fully automated production line was opened. It is eighty meters long and in one hour 1,000 pieces of honey cakes in several new variants are produced. But even this investment will not be  soon enough and so they build on.

Marlenka  currently employs more than 330 employees and produces over 9 million products annually, which it now exports, including Jordan, to a total of 52 countries in 4 continents. According to the Marlenka company, the basic key to its success is an old family recipe and the finest natural  ingredients, from the high-quality honey, to top-quality flour and roasted walnuts. The unique formula  also enable Marlenka products to have the minimimum experation date 3 months at room temperature, 9 months in the frige and even 3 years frozen, without the use of artificial preservatives, colors or GMO ingredients.
